MAS presents a discussion and Q&A session with Brandon Betty, Project Coordinator for the University District in Spokane. You will learn more about the University District evolution from its “grass roots” effort into a functioning Development Association focused on economic development, community revitalization, and smart growth opportunities. Brandon will discuss current and future projects, growth projections, the planning process, and information on revitalization funding that will provide development opportunities within the University District. As project coordinator, Brandon works directly with the stakeholders that comprise the University District Development Alliance. He executes implementation projects by coordinating components needed to market, initiate, track and communicate the progress of the University District efforts. While earning his Master’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning from Eastern Washington University, Brandon interned for Mayor Verner’s Sustainability Task force and completed his thesis on Municipal Planning for Sustainability.
