information from these local representatives. MAS will be conducting a Q&A session, highlighting how consultants
can better serve these higher education institutions, and opportunities
to team in the future. These representatives will provide preferences
for consultant selection,
proposals and interviewing, enrollment projections, upcoming projects,
and much more.
Mac McCandless has
served as Campus Architect at Gonzaga
University for the past
17 years. In his role as Division Manager for Planning and Design he is
responsible to the Director of Plant Services, for campus planning, facility
design, new building construction as well as existing building remodel,
upgrades and code compliance. Major duties include: needs assessment, space
analysis, feasibility studies, initial design and estimating; project
development and management.
Ryan
Ruffcorn, AIA is the Director of Capital Planning and Development at Washington State University’s
Riverpoint Campus. Ryan has been with the University since 2001 and has
overseen the planning and design of many of the University's research and
technology-focused capital projects on all four of the regional campuses.
Most recently Ryan has played a key role in the University’s pursuit of
public/private partnerships and the development of the Riverpoint Campus Master
Plan. Currently Ryan is managing the design process for the Biomedical
and Health Sciences Building
on the Riverpoint Campus.
K.C. Traver is the Director of Construction & Planning
Services for Eastern
Washington University
and has been in that position since January 2008. His responsibilities include updating the
Facilities Master Plan, development of the capital projects budget, facilities
project design, public works contract administration, and construction management
for a typical program of about $50 million over a two-year biennium.
Dennis
Dunham, Director of Capital Projects has been with the Community Colleges of
Spokane for the last 10 years. Dennis and his staff are involved in campus and
building planning, design, construction, remodeling and repairs. He is responsible for developing all capital
budgets and requests. He is currently
busy with construction of the new Science Building at Spokane Falls Community
College.
