""Connection starts with Credibility""
The title of his presentation is: "Connection starts with Credibility" and addresses the topics of self promotion/public speaking/credibility. In 1983, doctors told Rich that by thirty he'd be in a wheelchair if he didn't slow down and prepare for a life behind a desk. Determined to live on his own terms, he almost proved the doctors right. At 37, after a full life of sports, outside sales, and speaking, Rich woke up unable to walk. Undeterred, on April 25, 2006, he underwent elective amputation below the left knee, and is back on his feet sharing his message of determination and hope with the world. Rich has experienced tremendous successes and overcome crushing setbacks. Drawing from all areas of his life to share how to recognize and avoid the pitfalls we all come across, he also motivates audiences to see the success we've all experienced, but often are unable to acknowledge and celebrate. Rich brings humor, insight, and inspiration to his audiences, whether he is speaking on personal motivation and goal setting, the intricacies of sales and customer service, self-promotion and marketing, family dynamics, or coaching speakers of every type.

"Using Golf in Business - Full Day Seminar"

RSVP HERE! How well are you communicating with your clients? How can you build a client relationship outside of your workspace in places such as the golf course? First, let’s survey where you are at in the following categories:
1. I can't stand golf, don't play and I don't intend to—but I’m interested in learning enough about the game to be able to converse with current or potential clients and colleagues.
2. I golf, but I am a new or a novice golfer and I want to leverage golf for business gain—interested in learning about the possibilities.
3. I golf, but haven't leveraged the game for business gain—interested in learning how to begin.
4. I golf, well and leverage golf for business gain—but I am interested in learning more. If you fall under any of these categories, you don’t want to miss the Marketing Associates of Spokane April Seminar!!
We are flying in Hilary Bruggen Fordwich, an internationally renowned expert on business development, strategic relationship building, and client relationship management for professionals in service organizations and knowledge-based industries. A 9-handicap golfer, she also lectures and helped design the curriculum for the University of Maryland’s Golf for Business and Life program, a new PGA-sponsored three-credit course offered to graduate business students.
By Jahi Chikwendiu -- The Washington Post Photo Hilary, President of Strelmark Business Development Consultants, out of Washington, D.C. offers a benefit to all participants from each of these four categories through an innovative, strategic relationship approach. She will be speaking about two topics that will apply to your everyday business development efforts: Business Golf 101 Golf is one of the most powerful business development and career advancing tools, yet many professionals still fail to recognize its value. This presentation highlights the latest business research with anecdotes that underscore the power of golf in leveling the playing field, moving up the ladder, bidding on projects, bringing in new business, and creating alliances to deepen existing client relationships. Participants will gain conversational fluency and a basic understanding of the game's history, rules, and language, including the most important etiquette tips from cell phone usage to the number one way to gain likeability on the golf course. Also addressed are common questions such as, "At what level do I have to play in order to participate in business golf?" The Golden Rules: Avoiding Business Golf Blunders Unlike any other sport, golf provides an unparalleled opportunity to establish trust with prospects, clients, and colleagues. Indeed, it has become the sport of choice for many Fortune 500 executives. Yet business golf can actually be detrimental if not properly planned and played. Geared to those who want to better leverage their golf game for business gain, Bruggen sets forth her popular "business golf blunders to avoid," such as taking the wrong approach, poor planning from strategy to the smallest details, playing over your head, appearance malfunctions, winning the game but losing the client, and missing the critical cues about when to (and when not to!) bring up business. Check in: 7:00 a.m. Morning Seminar (Business Golf 101): 7:30 a.m. to11:00 a.m. Lunch: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Afternoon Seminar (Avoiding Business Golf Blunders): 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Downtown Spokane -- Laying Foundations for a Prosperous Future Downtown Spokane has seen outstanding growth over the past several years as the economic engine of our City. This growth has come in many ways through many partnerships, but one particular driving force behind the planning, advocacy and overall development has been the Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP). The DSP was formed along with the Business Improvement District (BID) over a dozen years ago. Since then we, as a community, have seen over $3 Billion dollars of new or redevelopment as result of the hard work and effort of a variety of community members and organizations. On August 9th Jami Cary, Marketing Communications Coordinator for the DSP, is going to share where we have been as a Downtown, where we are today and where we are going in the future. Though a relative newcomer to Spokane, Jami has seen lots of change and growth in Downtown over her last two years at the DSP, and helped address and work through many of the growing pains that come along with progress.
